5 best electric kettles with a variable temperature control

Introduction

Hello! And welcome to the first of MANY blog articles to come >> subscribe to the RSS yo.

In this first article we’re going to get into some high-tech kettles that come with a variable temperature control, aka Smart kettles, because they’re well, really SMART compared to their ancestors.

Yeah that’s right! Imagine your plain old bog standard traditional kettle, how you going to brew a cup of tea with that?

You’re going to walk into your kitchen, you’re going to fill it up with water and you’re going to have to click the switch to make it boil.

But the boil temperature is going to be predefined if it lacks a variable temperature control.

But now that we live in a world of a human dependence on technology to make our lives easier, we don’t want to get up, boil a kettle and wait for the water to cool down in our mugs anymore! Or so thought some kettle manufacturers, and they are right!

So what is a variable temperature control?

A variable temperature control allows YOU the user to set what temperature you would like your water to be boiled at. And that’s pretty much it!

So what are the main advantages of owning a kettle with a variable temperature control?

We’re going to keep this nice and simple:

  1. You set the temperature of the water to be boiled.
  2. No longer have to wait for a cup of green tea to cool down.
  3. Many coffees require less than boiling temperature to taste good.
  4. Maybe you want some perfectly warmed water for a newborn baby?

Well they are the advantages in a nutshell! Perfect, right?

But wait, there’s more to know.

The flavour and aroma of fine loose leaf teas, coffees and other hot beverages can be impaired by the harshness of water at the highest boiling temperature.

That’s why a lot of coffees a loose leaf teas such as green teas recommend a less than boiling temperature for brewing.

So while traditional kettles bring the water to boiling point, many beverages are optimally created at temperatures varying from 85-95 degrees Celsius.

Variable temperature kettles afford the opportunity to more precisely control the temperature of your hot water.
