Distribution Utility Worker I
Distribution Utility Worker I Salary: $3035 - $4156 Monthly Schedule: Full Time
Description: The Coachella Valley Water District is seeking a Distribution Utility Worker I. Will work as a member of a construction and maintenance crew and perform maintenance labor involving District production, distribution, pipelines and structures. Performs pick and shovel work, digging, widening and backfilling trenches and other excavations. Assists in laying pipelines, performing pump and valve maintenance and concrete work. At least one year of related experience is preferred.

Meter Reader Trainee
Meter Reader Trainee Salary: $3035 - $4156 Monthly Schedule: Full Time
Description: The Coachella Valley Water District seeks a Meter Reader Trainee. Will read water meters and report water usage using a hand-held computer. One year of route experience and customer service experience preferred. Turns water on and off as directed. Must work tactfully and courteously with customers and adhere to District safety practices and procedures.

Wastewater Operator in Training
Wastewater Operator in Training Salary: $3180 - $4343 Monthly Schedule: Full Time
Description: The Coachella Valley Water District is seeking a Wastewater Operator in Training. This is the entry-level position for wastewater treatment plant operators. Will assist with the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant. Will be required to learn basic working knowledge of the District’s Wastewater treatment plant operation. Works rotating shifts with days off either Friday and Saturday or Sunday and Monday. Within 24 months of appointment, must obtain a Wastewater Treatment Operator Grade I certification. Any combination of training and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Electronics Technician I (2 Positions)
Electronics Technician I (2 Positions) Salary: $4749 - $6524 Monthly Schedule: Full Time
Description: The Coachella Valley Water District is seeking two Electronic Technicians. Under general supervision will perform installation, repair, calibration, and maintenance work on the district's supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, automatic control systems, radio systems, telephone systems, security systems, flood warning systems, and do related work as required.

Possession of a valid Technician Certificate issued through a program endorsed by the Federal Communications Commission or a FCC license is required to be considered for this position. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be to have two years experience in the electronics repair field. Possession of a High School diploma or G.E.D. is also required.

The Coachella Valley Water District is recognized for its worldwide progressive water management techniques. Covering approximately 1,000 square miles of southeastern California desert in Riverside, Imperial, and San Diego Counties, the District provides irrigation water service from the Colorado River through the All American Canal system to approximately 66,000 acres of fruits and vegetables including table grapes, citrus, sweet corn, and 90% of the country's dates.

The District also provides urban water from 100 wells to more than 107,000 homes and businesses and sewer service through six reclamation plants to more than 96,000 homes and businesses.

The District is also a State Water Project contractor using available water for groundwater replenishment.
